The inspiration here comes from famous paintings of women. I have used different combinations of color and ornamentation to transport these figures into a different place and time. These pieces are frames inside of frames made on recycled woods and medals along with acrylic paints and papers. All the figures are in public domain.

These childhood reliquary’s are mementos and objects associated with a childhood and past when our toys were powered by imagination not batteries. A time when I anthropomorphized my stuffed rabbits and teddy bears and I spoke for my dolls, not manufacturers. These toys don’t have an expected shelf life or an expiration date. Their meaning has life long after we have outgrown them.
